Ideas For a Red, White, and TWO Birthday Party

Ideas for a Red, White & TWO Birthday Party

When my son, Duke, was born the same week as the Fourth of July, I instantly knew what theme I wanted for his second birthday. I’ve been collecting ideas for a Red, White & TWO birthday party for—well, two whole years! I’m so happy with how everything turned out, and I wanted to share all the details here in case you’re planning your own patriotic birthday celebration.

Ideas for a Red, White & TWO Birthday Party

For the food, we kept things classic and crowd-pleasing with a mix of summer favorites. We served up BBQ and chicken tenders, which are always a hit, alongside potato salad, pasta salad, a fresh garden salad, and plenty of juicy watermelon. One of my favorite things was the hot dog flag we made using rows of hot dogs and buns styled to look like the American flag—it was such a fun (and tasty!) touch!

decorations

For the decorations, we wanted to keep things classic and patriotic with lots of red, white, and blue. I ordered the Happy Birthday banner from Etsy, and it added the perfect custom touch to the setup. The rest of the party décor, from the plates and napkins to the festive garlands, came from My Mind’s Eye. Everything tied together so well and made the whole space feel fun and festive!

balloons

No party is complete without balloons, and Balloons by Sarah totally brought my vision to life! She created the most fun and festive red, white, and blue garland that made the whole setup pop. She always does such an amazing job, you can check out more of her work over on her Instagram! We even added balloons to our Athens Party Co. candy cart and bounce house, which made such a cute little focal point for treats and kept the little ones entertained. Both of these are available to rent at Athens Party Co.

Treats

When it comes to party treats, we stick with our favorites! As always, we got our cookies from Julie Beans Bake Shop. She never misses, and the custom red, white, and TWO designs were almost too cute to eat. We ordered the cake from Bees Knees, and it was just as delicious as it was adorable. Both added the perfect finishing touch to our dessert table and tied in the theme so well!

invitations

I ordered both the invitations and welcome sign from Etsy, and they turned out absolutely perfect! I love being able to support small shops, and Etsy always has the cutest, most creative designs. The invites really set the tone for the whole party, and the welcome sign was such a fun touch to greet guests as they arrived. It tied everything together and made the setup feel extra special right from the start. You can shop them below!
