Happy Father’s Day! Growing up, I remember my mom putting together the cutest themed gift baskets for all occasions. She loved to pick a theme and go all out! I couldn’t wait to start this tradition with Dottie and I knew a Father’s Day gift basket would be the perfect start! Trey loves to grill (especially in the summertime) so I used the Cricut Joy to create a personalized grilling gift basket.
The Cricut Joy is am portable cutting machine that can link to your phone or computer to design unlimited creations. I used the Cricut Joy to personalize gifts made of a variety of materials such as fabric, wood, and glass!
First up, I used the Cricut Joy and the Smart Iron-On material to create a custom decal for an oven mitt. It was so easy, honestly the hardest part was choosing a font because there were so many! I used the Easypress mini iron to secure it to the mitt and it turned out great!
Next, I used the Smart Vinyl permanent to create a custom message on a mini cutting board. I added “Happy Father’s Day” and “love, Dottie” on the board for a personal touch. The Cricut weeder and scraper tools came in handy for removing the unwanted vinyl from the decal and pressing it into the board.
Next, I filled a small glass jar with his favorite spice rub. The Smart Label writable vinyl and the 0.4mm pen worked perfectly to create a custom label. It was so easy, now that I see how great the labels stick to glass jars, I am tempted to re-label my entire spice rack!
Lastly, I added in some grilling tools like a spatula and baster brush, a cookbook, salt & pepper shakers. I decided to use a galvanized bucket instead of a traditional basket to give it a more masculine touch.
