If you’ve ever opened a closet and felt overwhelmed by the clutter, you’re not alone. I had a closet upstairs that at one point in time was a “gift closet” meets “craft closet” but had long since been neglected after my children were born.
I had piles of forgotten wrapping paper, half-finished projects piled high, and a maze of mismatched supplies. When I finally decided to tackle the project of getting this space organized, I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t even know where to begin! Keep reading to see how professional organizers turned my chaos into a functional workspace!
Before
I am embarrassed to show you my before pictures! You can see this transformation in action on this video. I had a friend suggest I reach out to Stored Simply and it was the best decision!
Before Stored Simply worked their magic, the closet was overflowing with craft and party supplies. Everything from scrapbooking materials to cricut tools and fabric swatches were scattered in disarray. What should have been a space of creativity had become a place of frustration, making it nearly impossible find what was needed for a project.
During
Stored Simply began by coming over for a consult to see the space and take measurements. This took about 15 minutes total and I received a quote from them that evening. The price will vary based on the size of your space and how much product (bins, containers, etc.) you will need.
On the day of the actual organizing, they began by removing all items from the closet and made piles of items based on different categories. I then went through each pile with them to determine what items were truly necessary and which ones could be donated or discarded.
Next, they sorted the remaining items into even smaller categories—paints, papers, fabrics, party supplies, seasonal items, etc. and put each category into it’s own container which, of course, was labeled! This not only reduced visual clutter but also made it easier to find supplies when inspiration struck.
After
The result? A craft/gift closet that feels like an extension of the creativity it’s meant to inspire. The giftwrapping such as ribbons, gift boxes, crinkle paper is on the left, while craft supplies such as paints, scrapbooking materials, markers, etc. are to the right. In the back are gifts ready to grab and go sorted by category (kid party gifts, hostess gifts, baby gifts, etc.) as well as larger bins housing seasonal items and larger party decor.
Each section is neat and tidy and easy to see at a glance. It’s now a space where projects can start and finish with ease, and the act of organizing supplies feels almost as satisfying as crafting itself!
My favorite product that Stored Simply recommended was this rolling wrapping paper cart! I love that it’s on wheels so it can easily be rolled in and out of the closet when needed. It has a space for ribbon, tools, tissue paper, and of course space for many rolls of wrapping paper!

I love this pantry project! I think this will be at the top of my list to organize in my house this year!
There is nothing quite as satisfying as a good closet makeover!
If you aren’t local to North Georgia, Stored Simply also does virtual organizing! They can conduct your consultation over the phone and guide you on how to take measurements of your space. Then they would put together a custom plan and will send over all the product links they recommend with instructions on how to sort and categorize each item!
You can connect with Stored Simply on their website linked here or their instagram here.
