Bacon wrapped dates are the perfect combination of savory, salty and sweet! This 2 ingredient appetizer is gluten-free, paleo and Whole30 approved! It’s my go-to appetizer for every occasion!
I highly recommend using bacon without sugar (the brand Applegate makes a great one). Purchasing dates that are already pitted will save you some time, but if you can’t find those at the grocery store just slice each date down the middle and remove the pits before starting.
Bacon Wrapped DatesPrint This
- Dates (pitted)
- Blue Cheese (optional)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper
Cut each strip of bacon into 3 equal pieces
Wrap cut bacon strip around the date, the bacon should slightly overlap
Place bacon, overlapped side down, on the cookie sheet
Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through
*optional* sprinkle with blue cheese
Note* if you add the optional cheese it will not technically be Whole30 compliant. Try to use sugar free bacon (applegate makes a good one) and pitted dates with no extra sugar added. If you don't buy pitted dates you will need to remove the pit before starting.
